Origin and Quality

Our Matcha is grown in Uji (Kyoto), Japan. Since our Matcha is exclusively available in ceremony quality, only the youngest and greenest green tea leaves from the first harvest are selected. This makes your Matcha extremely green, not bitter, and rich in antioxidants.

What makes MatchaLand Matcha so special is that every harvest is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, and radioactivity. We only accept harvests where all tests come back negative (no detectable residues).

What is ceremony quality?
Ceremony quality is the highest quality level for Matcha. It is made from the youngest and greenest green tea leaves and results in a fine, bright green powder that tastes creamy and slightly sweet.

Lower qualities such as β€œPremium” or β€œCulinary” are made from older leaves, have a darker to yellowish color, taste bitter (sometimes fishy), and leave an unpleasant aftertaste.

Nutritional Values & Ingredients

100% Matcha green tea in ceremonial quality from Uji, Japan (Okumidori cultivar, first harvest).

Almost 0 calories, but great effect:
One serving of Matcha consists of only 2 g and contains less than 7 calories. At the same time, it provides about 60 mg of caffeine, almost as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Since the whole tea leaf is consumed in Matcha, it also contains up to 10Γ— more antioxidants than conventional green tea.

Laboratory tests (tested for heavy metals, radioactivity & pesticides)
At MatchaLand, every harvest is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, and radioactivity. We only accept harvests where all tests come back negative (no detectable residues). For this reason, we call our matcha β€œPure Matcha”.

What does Matcha taste like?

Matcha tastes creamy and slightly earthy, with less bitterness than classic green tea and a fine umami flavour. Many describe it as gentle, tart, and lightly nutty.

Since many of our customers have never tried matcha before MatchaLand, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you do not like it, you can simply send it back and receive a refund.

Can one enjoy matcha during pregnancy?

Excessive caffeine consumption during pregnancy is generally not recommended.

The World Health Organization (WHO) advises limiting the daily caffeine amount during pregnancy to a maximum of 300 mg.

A cup of Matcha (about 2 g) contains around 60 mg of caffeine.

However, we are not doctors and recommend that you consult your physician before consuming Matcha during pregnancy.

How much matcha can I drink per day?

You and your body decide that. The same limits you would set for coffee also apply to matcha.

One serving of matcha (about 2 g) contains around 60 mg of caffeine. We ourselves sometimes drink up to 3 servings per day – that corresponds to about 180 mg of caffeine and is within the range of several cups of coffee or about 3 small energy drinks.

It is important to listen to your personal well-being and adjust your consumption accordingly.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Orders are shipped within 24 hours. We have 2 shipping options that you can choose at checkout:

Priority Mail: 1-2 working days

πŸ‘‹ Hello, my name is Sebastyan Meixger

and I am the founder of MatchaLand.

Β

Coffee β˜• always made me nervous and the energy lasted only a few hours before the caffeine crash hit. 😰 I found it hard to concentrate. My stomach felt overacidified and I couldn’t sleep well at night.

Β

In Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ I discovered matcha and was immediately thrilled by the calm, long-lasting energy. When I then learned how high the antioxidant content is, I was completely convinced.

Β

That’s why I founded MatchaLand: to bring healthy, effective energy πŸ’ͺ to Switzerland.
So do yourself & your body a favour and switch with me to better, healthier energy.
