Tested: The 5 Best Matcha Brands in Switzerland

1. MatchaLand (our recommendation)

If you want to buy high-quality Matcha in Switzerland, you can't go past MatchaLand. They offer organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Uji in Japan, a region known worldwide for premium Matcha. Each shipment is tested in independent labs for heavy metals, aluminum, and radioactivity, with consistently clean results. With a price starting at just CHF 0.49 per gram, MatchaLand offers excellent value for money. In addition to pure Matcha, there are also varieties like strawberry, vanilla, chai, mango, cinnamon, and coconut-raspberry. MatchaLand is a Swiss family business without investors. Over 2,000 reviews in the shop speak for themselves, plus there is a 30-day return policy even on opened products and free shipping from CHF 25.

Conclusion: Very high quality, fair prices, and the largest selection make MatchaLand the first address in Switzerland.

2. Ceremony Matcha

Ceremony Matcha is a Swiss brand with a simple, modern design. The offer includes organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha, but no details about exact origin or test reports can be found on the website. At CHF 0.85 per gram, the price is significantly above average. Besides Matcha, there is also Hojicha. The return policy is rather strict; opened products cannot be returned, which makes testing difficult. Shipping is free from CHF 45.

Conclusion: Nice design and good quality, but expensive and with limited service.

3. Sirocco

The well-known Swiss tea brand Sirocco has Matcha in its range, which comes from Shizuoka in Japan. Information on purity or radioactivity tests is missing. At CHF 1.09 per gram, this Matcha is expensive, and there are no customer reviews in the shop. Returns are only possible for unopened products. Shipping costs CHF 8.50, and free delivery is only available from CHF 120.

Conclusion: Good quality, but very high price, no reviews, and little customer-friendly conditions.

4. Paper & Tea

Paper & Tea is an international brand with a branch in Zurich. The offered Matcha comes from Kagoshima in Japan. It is organic Ceremonial Grade but is not considered as high quality as Matcha from Uji. At CHF 2.20 per gram, it is among the most expensive options. There are only a few reviews in the shop, returns are possible within 14 days, and free shipping is available from CHF 59.

Conclusion: Stylish brand with a large range, but the price is hardly justified for Matcha lovers.

5. Coop

Coop also sells Matcha, but it is not Ceremonial Grade. The packaging only states Japan as the origin, no further details are given, and test reports are not published. At CHF 0.65 per gram, the price is low, but the quality falls short of premium Matcha. The shop reviews are mixed, only 12 pieces with an average of four out of five stars.

Conclusion: Practically available and attractively priced, but not premium quality and little transparency.

Mega vanilla flavor

Drink it now instead of my afternoon coffee. It awakens you, but in a pleasant way. The vanilla makes it especially mild, you can taste the real vanilla. No comparison to the cheap blends you usually find.

Best green tea powder I have ever tasted.

10/10! I have already ordered about 5 times for myself and friends/family! The quality is incomparably good. The colour from other suppliers is rather oddly dark green and tastes very grassy and strange. The one from Matchaland is a nice light green, tastes mild, and has no bitter note.

Holiday feeling in the cup 🌴🍹

At first, I was hesitant about the combination, but it tastes like a wholesome drink. The raspberry adds a wonderful freshness and coconut makes it creamy. When you’re not in the mood for classic/pure matcha, this is the perfect choice. It is slightly sweet, even though no sugar is added.

What does Matcha taste like?

Matcha tastes creamy and slightly earthy, with less bitterness than classic green tea and a fine umami flavour. Many describe it as gentle, tart, and lightly nutty.

Since many of our customers have never tried matcha before MatchaLand, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you do not like it, you can simply send it back and receive a refund.

Can one enjoy matcha during pregnancy?

Excessive caffeine consumption during pregnancy is generally not recommended.

The World Health Organization (WHO) advises limiting the daily caffeine amount during pregnancy to a maximum of 300 mg.

A cup of Matcha (about 2 g) contains around 60 mg of caffeine.

However, we are not doctors and recommend that you consult your physician before consuming Matcha during pregnancy.

How much matcha can I drink per day?

You and your body decide that. The same limits you would set for coffee also apply to matcha.

One serving of matcha (about 2 g) contains around 60 mg of caffeine. We ourselves sometimes drink up to 3 servings per day – that corresponds to about 180 mg of caffeine and is within the range of several cups of coffee or about 3 small energy drinks.

It is important to listen to your personal well-being and adjust your consumption accordingly.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Orders are shipped within 24 hours. We have 2 shipping options that you can choose at checkout:

Priority Mail: 1-2 working days
Economy Mail: 3-4 working days

What kinds of payment methods are accepted?
  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • TWINT

👋 Hello, my name is Sebastyan Meixger

and I am the founder of MatchaLand.

Coffee ☕ always made me nervous and the energy only lasted a few hours before the caffeine crash hit. 😰 I found it hard to concentrate. My stomach felt acidic and I couldn’t sleep well at night.

In Japan 🇯🇵 I discovered matcha and was immediately impressed by the calm, long-lasting energy. When I also learned about its high antioxidant content, I was completely convinced.

That’s why I founded MatchaLand: to bring healthy, effective energy 💪 to Switzerland.
So do something good for yourself & your body and switch to better, healthier energy with me.

Sebastyan 💚
